New Musicals, Play & Cabaret Will Develop at Forestburgh Playhouse's In the Works~In the Woods Festival

The incubator of new theatrical works will return for its sixth season this summer.

Forestburgh, NY - Forestburgh Playhouse in New York's Catskills has unveiled the sixth season of its In the Works~In the Woods festival, the company's incubator for new theatrical works. This year's programming—which includes readings, presentations, discussions, and more—will run September 18-20, 2026.

In-development works that will be spotlighted this year include Hut, Hut, Hike by Kenneth Jones and directed by Jeremy Webb; The Homefront, by Jenny Stafford, Malika Oyetimein, and Sam Salmond, and directed by Oyetimein; and The Color of Things, adapted from a book by Vivienne Shalom and featuring music by Grace Oberhofer and a book and lyrics by Lisa Mongillo.

The season will also include Stacey Scotte's autobiographical solo play Upstaged, and the return of Catskills Cab Lab, which will feature Lauren Chapman's Thawed Out and Ian Coursey's The Wandering Man.
