Library Trustee Petitions Available for two 3-Year Terms, and two 1-Year Terms.

Petitions will be available Friday, August 14th, for the October 14, 2026 election of trustees at the Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library in Monticello, N.Y. Four of the seven seats on the board are up for election: 

• Two seats for full 3-year terms (1/1/27 – 12/31/29) 

• Two seats for the remaining 1 year of two 3-year terms (1/1/25 – 12/31/27) 

Incumbent Lois Berkowitz (3yr) is seeking re-election. Three seats on the board, one 3-year, and two 3-year terms with 1-year remaining are seeking new members.

Come to the library to pick up a trustee petition from the election secretary if you are interested in running and you are an eligible voter that resides within the library service area (the Town of Forestburgh, Bethel or Thompson within the Monticello Central School District). Petitions must be returned to the library by 5pm on Monday, September 14, 2026.
