Liberty Public Library celebrates National Quilting Month with a Quilt Show & Raffle

Liberty Public Library is proud to announce a special celebration of National Quilting Month with a stunning quilt exhibit on display from now until mid-May. The exhibit showcases the creative works of talented local quilters from the Calico Geese Quilters Guild of Sullivan County, NY. With over twenty colorful quilts hanging throughout the main floor of the library and quilt names from “Kaleidoscope” to “Triple Divide” to “Barn Dance”, this is a show not to miss. In honor of Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day on April 14th, the show also includes a quilt inspired by the book I Never Saw Another Butterfly: Children’s Drawings and Poems from the Terezin Concentration Camp, 1942-1944.

In addition to the show, there is an exciting opportunity to own the largest quilt displayed and made by the Guild. By purchasing a raffle ticket, you are entered in a drawing to win the quilt. All ticket proceeds will be donated to organizations in Sullivan County that benefit the community.

The library invites everyone to come and view the beautiful, intricate quilts created by members of our community during our regular hours of operation. The Liberty Public Library is located at 189 North Main Street, Liberty, NY 12754. For more information, please call the library at (845)292-6070 or visit us online at libertypubliclibrary.org
