MIDDLETOWN, NY (June 4, 2026) — Garnet Health is proud to announce that Tanya Camacho, MSN, RN, OCN, of the Infusion Department at Spagnoli Family Cancer Center at Garnet Health Medical Center, received the 2026 1199SEIU Nurse of Distinction Award in a Community Setting. Additionally, Samantha Duquette, BSN, RN, CEN, of the Emergency Department at Garnet Health Medical Center, was named second runner-up for the Nurse of Distinction Award in a Hospital Setting.
Presented annually during Nurses Week in New York City, the 1199SEIU Nurse of Distinction Awards recognize exceptional nurses represented by 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East for their commitment to patient-centered care, clinical skill, leadership, and their communities. Recipients are selected through a peer-nominated process across multiple categories, including Nurse Leader, Novice Nurse, Preceptor and Advanced Practice Nursing.
In addition, Garnet Health Medical Center recognizes and celebrates the following nurses who were nominated:
