Free Dropoff Day for Sullivan County Residents Only

 

Monticello, NY – Public Works Committee Chair Joe Perrello is pleased to announce that Sullivan County is hosting a residential Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event in September.

 

Scheduled for Sunday, September 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., it will be offered at the Monticello Transfer Station at 91 Landfill Drive.

 

The program is open to individuals with residences in Sullivan County ONLY – photo ID or other proof of residency will be required. There is no charge, and pre-registration is not required.

 

This event is intended to collect and properly manage residentially-generated hazardous household materials like herbicides, pesticides, mercury-containing items, cleaning products, pool chemicals, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, fluorescent bulbs, paints, solvents, acids, bases, automotive batteries, antifreeze and preservatives, just to name a few. Please note that tires, refrigerators, electronics, ammunition, radioactive material and medical waste will not be accepted at this event.
