ROAD CLOSURE

Ferndale, NY - The Sullivan County Division of Public Works is closing a portion of County Road No. 72 (Lieutenant J.G. Brender Highway) in the Town of Liberty to repair a section of failing roadway embankment, located approximately 0.2 miles south of the intersection of County Road No. 71 (Ferndale Road).

This section of CR 72 is scheduled to be closed to all traffic starting 8 a.m. October 1, 2025, and will remain closed for approximately five (5) weeks, though that may be extended as needed due to the weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

The Sullivan County Ferndale Transfer Station will remain open during the road closure.
