Landforms and Bodyscapes, Drawings by Julie Harrison
On View: August 3rd - September 15th, 2024
Opening Reception: Saturday, August 3rd, 4-6 PM

Hudson Valley artist Julie Harrison’s exhibition delves into the biological aspects of human existence through her unique, process-driven approach. Inspired by microscopic and neuronal activities, Harrison’s abstract drawings on paper capture the essence and energy of life. Using painting, cutting, and repurposing images, she creates works that straddle the edge of the recognizable, exploring the dualities of nature and artifice.

Harrison’s career spans numerous accolades, including awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts. Her work has been showcased in prestigious venues like the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Arts & Design in New York. Harrison’s early video art has been exhibited internationally, and she has held artist residencies at institutions such as Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
