Parkinson’s Support Group Meetings to take place at CCESC

LIBERTY, NY – Parkinson's disease symptoms can be different for everyone, but that does not change the devastating effect it can have on affected individuals and their loved ones. While there’s no cure for Parkinson’s disease, support is available to those who are affected by it and those caring for affected individuals in Sullivan County. Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County is now the hosting location of the Parkinson’s Support Group taking place on the second Wednesday of the month from July through November, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm.

The Parkinson's Support Group will offer a place for interested participants to connect with others and resources available through the Caregiver Resource Center and Alzheimer's Association. The group will be co-facilitated by Angela Page, Sally Abrams, and CRC Program Coordinator Nancy McGraw. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their concerns and share tips on managing stress, learn about Parkinson's, and be provided with community resources.

Interested participants are encouraged to register before their first time attending. The Parkinson’s Support Group registration can be accessed at CCE’s website at https://sullivancce.org/events. Participants can also register by contacting Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County’s Caregiver Resource Center at (845) 292-6180 ext. 122 or by email at sullivancrc@cornell.edu. Further insight on the support group and the program can be accessed via the contact information above.

The Caregiver Resource Center is a partnership between CCE Sullivan and Office for the Aging of Sullivan County and is supported in part by grant funding from the NYS Office for the Aging’s Caregiver Program, NYS Department of Health.
