Birding and Fishing Events

BEACH LAKE, PA – Come learn about why the Upper Delaware River is a great place to bird watch and to throw in a line to fish at two events to be held in June.

In celebration of World Migratory Bird Day Upper Delaware will hold a special event on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 10:00am to 2:00pm.  Visitors can explore how small, everyday actions can help protect native bird species, with fun hands-on activities and demonstrations for kids and adults to enjoy.   This event will be held at the Mongaup DEC Access located at the intersection of Route 31 and Route 97 in Glen Spey, NY.  Be part of this year’s global event celebrating Shared Spaces: Creating Bird-Friendly Cities and Communities. More information can be found at https://go.nps.gov/UPDEBirdDay2025.

Later in the month in celebration of Free Fishing Day in New York, join Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River and the New York DEC at the Narrowsburg DEC Boating Access, on June 29th from 10:00am to 2:00pm for tips and tricks on safely fishing the river, casting practice, and fun hands-on activities for kids, including the chance to earn their very own Junior Ranger Angler Badge!  The Narrowsburg DEC Access is located at 69 De Mauro Lane, Narrowsburg, NY 12764.

New York State’s Free Fishing Days are on June 28th and June 29th. More information can be found at https://go.nps.gov/UPDEFreeFishDay2025.
