FORESTBURGH, NY — The Forestburgh Playhouse, New York State’s oldest continuously operating professional summer theatre, is thrilled to announce the opening of its 79th season, launching June 17 and running through August 31, 2025. With a dynamic blend of musical comedies, farces, family favorites, and poignant drama, this summer promises to be one of the Playhouse’s most ambitious and exciting seasons yet.

Located in the heart of the Sullivan Catskills, the Forestburgh Playhouse will present seven Main Stage productions, a beloved Family Fun production, dinner-cabaret experiences at the Forestburgh Tavern, youth education programs, and the return of the nationally recognized In the Works ~ In the Woods Festival, now in its fifth year. More Than Just the Main Stage

Beyond the Main Stage, the Forestburgh Tavern comes alive each evening with its celebrated Dinner-Cabaret Series, serving up craft cocktails, delicious meals, and world-class cabaret performances Tuesday through Saturday at 6 PM.

Young artists can explore the performing arts through the Forestburgh Playhouse Academy, offering engaging summer workshops that culminate in fully staged youth productions.

Capping off the season is the return of the In the Works ~ In the Woods Festival, running September 5–7, a weekend dedicated to the development of new theatrical works. Festival events include staged readings, celebrity artist talks, industry panels, parties, and local vendor markets.
