THE FORESTBURGH PLAYHOUSE ANNOUNCES ITS 2024 MAINSTAGE SEASON

THE FORESTBURGH PLAYHOUSE ANNOUNCES ITS 2024 MAINSTAGE SEASON

FORESTBURGH, October 18, 2023 – The Forestburgh Playhouse is thrilled to unveil the lineup for the 2024 Mainstage Season. Celebrating its 78th Anniversary, the season promises a sensational blend of comedy, drama, iconic music, and show-stopping performances.

Producer Franklin Trapp enthused, “Our 78th Anniversary Season is an incredible lineup of top-notch, blockbuster and wildly entertaining productions. We believe this season has something for everyone – comedy, incredible music, drama, big dance numbers, and of course, the unparalleled talent we bring to our stage each year!”

The curtain rises in mid-June on Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits, an iconic and comic spoof capturing the Best of Broadway. Trapp assures audiences, “This show will provide endless entertainment! Get ready to laugh until your face hurts.” This is followed by the poignant How I Learned to Drive, the 1998 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama.

As summer heats up, the Playhouse transports its audience to a musical beach party with Jimmy Buffet’s Escape to Margaritaville. It's guaranteed to have everyone singing along. July brings the electric energy of The Prom, straight from its acclaimed Broadway run. Trapp adds, “In addition to our wildly talented NYC professional actors and Resident Company, The Prom will also spotlight The Promsemble – our finest teen talents from the Sullivan Catskills and adjacent counties. Stay tuned for audition information!”

August will indeed be a blockbuster month at the Playhouse, starting with Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, chronicling the life and timeless hits of the iconic Carole King. The summer crescendos with the rock anthem-infused Rock of Ages, bringing the infectious energy of 80s rock back to the Playhouse. The season culminates with the side-splitting comedy, Hand to God, a hilarious romp featuring a twisted ministry group, an overly aggressive puppet (yes, a puppet), plus a dash of comedy, mayhem and fun!

“We genuinely believe this lineup is among the most thrilling we’ve ever presented,” states Trapp, urging theatergoers to take advantage of early ticketing offers. “Now is the perfect time to secure discounts and premium seating with a Flex 6-Pack or a Season Pass.”
