SUNY Sullivan ATTAIN Ribbon Cutting Alert!

SUNY Sullivan Celebrates Grand Opening of New SUNY ATTAIN Lab
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Thursday, August 28 at 2 p.m.
Loch Sheldrake, NY —SUNY Sullivan is proud to announce the grand opening of its new SUNY ATTAIN (Advanced Technology Training and Information Networking) Lab, a state-of-the-art learning center that will expand technology access and workforce training opportunities for the Sullivan County community. The new facility will be the first to be opened within a community college in the State of New York. It will also support English language learners, career changers, and those seeking to earn professional certifications at no cost.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on August 28, 2025 at 2 p.m. at SUNY Sullivan’s ATTAIN Lab, 112 College Rd., Loch Sheldrake, NY, room H-076A and will be attended by local leaders, SUNY representatives, and members of our community.
The new ATTAIN Lab, funded through the State University of New York University Center for Academic and Workforce Development (UCAWD) with generous support from the New York State Legislature, offers free access to computers, high-speed internet, and industry-recognized training programs in areas such as high school equivalency (HSE) testing preparation, digital literacy, Microsoft Office, customer service, health care, and more. The lab is designed to serve residents ages 16 and older, from students looking to boost their academic skills to jobseekers working toward new career opportunities. Whether studying in person or online, ATTAIN will help students reach their goal—and take the next step toward college or a better career.
Students can earn their GED with free, flexible support from the ATTAIN center, working at their own pace with easy-to-use computer learning programs, building skills in reading, math, science, and social studies, and taking practice tests, guided by instructors who are there to answer questions.
GED recipients are eligible for the Sullivan Promise Scholarship, which pays all of the costs for tuition and fees for a two-year degree program at SUNY Sullivan.
“The ATTAIN Lab is about breaking down barriers,” said SUNY Sullivan President, Dr. David Potash. “It gives our students and community members the tools and training they need to thrive in today’s technology-driven world, right here in Sullivan County.”
The SUNY ATTAIN initiative has opened similar labs in community-based organizations, public housing authorities and Educational Opportunity Centers across New York State, helping thousands of individuals gain skills that directly translate to career advancement.
