Mio will guide you through the graceful hand gestures used in traditional Hawaiian and Tahitian dances, teaching you the cultural significance behind each movement. You’ll also learn the essential hip and footwork that bring these dances to life. Mio’s Bio: Born in Tokyo, Japan, Mio has called New York City her home for over 16 years and has been in the professional dance spotlight for over a decade. With art at the core of her dance, Mio specializes in Middle Eastern dance, but her artistry doesn’t stop there. Mio delivers expertise in Polynesian dances, such as Hula and Ori Tahiti, in addition to Bollywood and Fire dancing in her unique repertoire. Mio has competed in several prestigious dance competitions, notably placing third at the Cairo belly dance festival, the largest competition of its kind in New York. A truly talented entertainer and artist, Mio will transport you into another world with her majestic talent.
