Jeffersonville's Founder's Day Oktoberfest
Jeffersonville Founder's Day Oktoberfest is a celebration of Jeffersonville's German and Swiss Heritage. It is held Columbus Day weekend, this year Sunday, October 8th. Picture Main Street Jeffersonville decorated and packed with artisan vendors. Live music and delicious German and Swiss food and treats served at all 6 Main Street restaurants. Each restaurant offering outdoor seating and service so you won't miss any of the action. As if that isn't incentive enough, the day is jam packed with some of the most entertaining events you could find! October 8th kicks off at 11a, our first event is the 12p Hot dog Eating Contest, at 2p veteran teams will battle the newbies to keep their current standing in our Tug of War competition. The most unique competition is our BYOB (Build Your Own Boat) Race. Hilarity is bound to ensue when each team takes it's mark at the starting line in the Mill Pond. The themed boats are very impressive on land but... will they float?... which one will win? Meet us by the Mill Pond at 4p to join in the fun, or better yet, bring your own handmade boat! Check out our FB page for past races! Be sure to stick around for one of the most beautiful events, the grand finale Lantern Release Sunday evening. Throughout the day there are tons of activities for families & children. Shop our unique artisan vendors, get your fill of German and Swiss Fare or choose from the many ongoing activities including horse and carriage rides, pony rides, bungee trampolines, games & prizes, face painting, inflatables, hair ribbon braiding, alpacas & felting projects, arts & crafts, live music, photo stations, great food and drinks and so much more! The Oktoberfest Celebration is not to be missed!
