Integrative Medicine Conference
Breast Cancer Options, a survivor driven breast cancer non-profit providing services in the Hudson Valley is holding its 17h annual Complementary Medicine Conference at SUNY New Paltz, New Paltz, NY. The conference is Sunday, April 28, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Lecture Center at SUNY New Paltz. Workshops include: How to Reduce the Risk of Cancer, Recurrence & Its Underlying Causes; A Naturopathic Approach to Healing and Cancer; Use of Medical Marijuana in Cancer Treatment & Care; Visualization & The Benefits of Mindfulness; The Financial Impact of Cancer; Beyond BRCA: The next generation in genetic testing for breast cancer/Beyond Breast Imaging: Key tips on prevention and management through diet and healthy lifestyle changes. The Keynote speaker is Sheldon Feldman, MD, FACS, chief of breast surgery at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He will talk about New Developments in Breast Cancer. This conference will focus on strategies for risk reduction and prevention of cancer recurrence; nutrition; integrative oncology for clinicians; Overcoming treatment side effects; Stress reduction techniques; communication with your healthcare team;, environmental links to cancer, as well as a luncheon discussion for young survivors and a luncheon discussion for women with advanced breast cancer.
