Learn about the forgotten women in American history, Deborah Sampson, Mercy Otis Warren, Harriet Jacobs and a few others presented by SUNY Sullivan History Professor, Amy Colon. Amy Colon has been teaching at SUNY Sullivan since the fall semester of 2006. After graduating with a BA in history from Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY she received a full teacher's assistant scholarship from the University of Rhode Island where she earned an MA in history. After completing several courses in a Ph.D. history program at Northern Arizona University in 1998, Amy was hired in a tenure-track history instructor position at Palo Verde Community College in Blythe, CA where she taught for 8 years. In 2005, Amy and her husband, Joe, decided to move back east to be closer to family. That decision led them to Sullivan County and SUNY Sullivan.
