Farm Days: Community Fermenting Workshop
Farm Arts Collective, an agri-cultural center based on Willow Wisp Organic Farm presents a hands on fermenting workshop led by an exciting panel of teachers. Sauerkraut, beet kvaas, and kimchi will be the three main ferments with additional lessons of 1/2 sour pickles and garlic ferment. The workshops will be led by a host of teachers including Maria Grimaldi and Nancy Pierro representing the Weston A. Price Foundation of the Upper Delaware Chapter, Leanne Ciuffo, Cheryl Perry of Red Barn Studios, and Tannis Kowalchuk of Farm Arts Collective. Participants should bring 3 quart jars and 2 small jars, along with one large bowl. Organic cabbage, beets, napa cabbage, and garlic will be available for purchase at the workshop, or if participants wish to ferment their own produce, please feel free to bring the above list in. Salt and spices will be provided. The workshop will be held Sunday, October 13 from 11 AM -2 PM at Farm Arts Collective located at 38 Hickory Lane in Damascus, PA18415.
