Farm Arts Collective Opening Ceremony
Farm Arts Collective will hold an opening ceremony to celebrate the inaugural season of programs and events focused on farming, art, food and ecology. Based on Willow Wisp Organic Farm, the new not-for-profit organization will mark its inaugural season with a public event open to the whole community. The day will begin with opening remarks by Farm Arts Collective founders Tannis Kowalchuk and Sue Currier, followed by a blessing by Chief Gentlemoon of the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania. Guests will then be invited for a farm tour of Willow Wisp given by organic farmer-owner Greg Swartz. The day will also include a performance of TREES by the Farm Arts Collective Ensemble, an all-community round dance led by guest Lenape drummers, and socializing with refreshments of pie and lemonade. Farm Arts Collective is putting the word out to all area pie-bakers, asking those who are pastry-inclined, to bring along a pie for the “pie-luck” table to help feed guests. The event is free but donations are being accepted to help the new not-for-profit company run its 2019 programs. To donate or to learn more information go to www.FarmArtsCollective.org
