Annual Zane Grey Festival
Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River hosts the 19th Annual Zane Grey Festival
BEACH LAKE, PA – Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River, and the Zane Grey's West Society will host the 19th Annual Zane Grey Festival. The free festival will be held on the grounds of Zane Grey Museum in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025.
The Zane Grey Festival is geared towards fun for the entire family with many activities and events for children and adults throughout the day including:
· Pocono Wildlife will present Amazing Animal Adaptations featuring live animals and birds from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
· Brookvalley Farms will provide horse-drawn wagon rides from 11:30 AM - 3:30 PM
· Author of Paddlers Guide to the Delaware River, Gary Letcher will present Place Names of the Upper Delaware from 12:15 PM - 12:45 PM along with book signings throughout the day.
· Interactive children’s story reading with Fish and Feathers Intern Annie D’Arcy from 1:00 PM - 1:20 PM
· The Northeast Spirit Barbershop Quartet will present a compellation of melodies from 1:30 PM - 2:00 PM
· Local musician Dan Engvaldsen will perform folk music from 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM.
Ongoing throughout the day staff from Steamtown National Historic Site will demonstrate the "Ring of Fire".
There will be craft activities available for children of all ages along with a children's scavenger hunt. Throughout the day there will be primitive skills, weaving, and 19th Century wood working demonstrations. “National Parks on Air” will be hosted by the Wayne County Radio Amateur Radio Club. In addition, visitors can get free popcorn courtesy of the Honesdale National Bank.
Zane Grey's legacy of literature and sportsmanship lives on in Lackawaxen. Come join the fun and learn more about the Western novelist from Lackawaxen and be sure to check out his books in our new Little Free Library.
Honesdale’s own “Burger Shack” will be serving their signature gourmet hamburgers, hotdogs, pulled pork, french fries, macaroni and cheese, ice cold drinks and more. Cash only please, an ATM is located down the road at Honesdale National Bank.
