9th Annual Hudson Valley Gives Online Giving Day Planned for May 15
Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan hosts initiative to support hundreds of nonprofits.
MONTGOMERY, NY (March 20, 2024) – The Community Foundation is proud to host its 9th annual Hudson Valley Gives on Wednesday, May 15. Over the last eight years, Hudson Valley Gives has supported hundreds of nonprofits in seven Hudson Valley counties. After last year’s most successful effort yet, a total of $3.5 million has been raised.
CFOS leads this initiative, providing an online platform at HVGives.org and technical assistance and training for participating nonprofits. All donations received are deposited directly into each participating organization’s bank account. Nonprofits are eligible for additional prize money thanks to the generosity of corporate sponsors.
Registration for the 9th Annual HV Gives is now open. Non-profit organizations can register to take part at hvgives.org/register.
Sponsors will be accepted until April 1. Interested businesses can call the Community Foundation of Orange & Sullivan at 845-769-9393 or email megan@cfosny.org.
There is a diverse array of local causes to support, including animal shelters, arts groups, ambulance corps, libraries, historical societies, museums, farmland and environmental preservation groups, food pantries, human service organizations, health agencies and hospitals, recreation and youth groups, scholarship funds, and veterans’ organizations.
“We are honored to provide nonprofits throughout the region with an innovative way to reach donors who care about their causes and welcome the chance to support them with the ease of technology,” said Elizabeth Rowley, CFOS President and CEO. “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of people in the Hudson Valley who give year in and year out and want to encourage those who haven’t donated in the past to consider what organizations make their lives better and give where you live on May 15th!”
This single day of online fundraising will give nonprofits in Orange, Ulster, Dutchess, Sullivan, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester Counties the opportunity to reach thousands of new potential donors and boost their agency’s visibility exponentially through social media and marketing. Throughout the day, a pool of cash and in-kind prizes – donated by generous event sponsors – will spur donors to support their favorite charities as part of various contests. The cash prizes will be awarded directly to the nonprofits (not the donors) as incentives for them to creatively reach new and repeat audiences to raise funds to support their missions.
All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Success Party at Newburgh Brewing from 4 to 7 p.m. on May 15. Attendees can root for their favorite nonprofits and hear live announcements of the generous prizes awarded by our corporate sponsors.
Sponsors to date include Resorts World Catskills, Pamal Broadcasting, Walden Savings Bank, Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, Newburgh Brewing Company, Lanc & Tully Engineering and Surveying, Rowley Family Foundation, Catania, Mahon & Rider; M&T Bank, Garnet Health, Hudson Valley Investment Advisors, Beer World, Advance Testing, John Herbert Company, Acrisure, Central Hudson Gas & Electric, Bruderhof Church Communities, Association of Fundraising Professionals, William A.
