The Delaware Valley Job Corps Center is located in beautiful Callicoon, New York.  Our mission is to empower 16 to 24- year old’s through academics, vocational studies, and career skills with employability in mind.  Our Center offers residential living and recreation programing for our students.

Dorm Support Specialist – Full-time, Part-time and On-call available
 
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for working with Dorm Life team to provide students on respective dormitory with a safe, clean and structured living environment that fosters student retention, satisfaction, achievement and success. Provides individualized case management to maintain student enrollment and success in the program.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one-year Job Corps or related program experience required. A valid Driver’s License required.
 
HOURS:  Varied, includes nights and weekends.  Schedule includes 2 consecutive days off.
 
PAY:  $15.00/hour
 

 
Recreation Specialist – Full-time, Part-time and On-call available
 
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for working with Recreation team to provide students with a comprehensive and diverse recreation program. Promotes health and wellness through overseeing the recreation activities as outlined on the approved recreation schedule.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates of Arts Degree or 1-year related experience working with youth. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. CDL preferred.
 
HOURS:  3 p.m. – 12 a.m., 2 consecutive days off.
 
PAY:  $15.00/hour
 
 
Safety & Security Driver – FT and on call available
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Provides safe, efficient and effective transportation for students. Provide a safe and secure living and working environment for students and staff. Provides Center access control and visitor management. Assists in the investigation of accidents and incidents with the goal of resolution and reduction of future occurrences. Works in partnership with Dorm Life, Recreation and Safety and Security staff to effectively supervise and manage the student population. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer previous experience working with youth. Must possess and maintain a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement required.
 
HOURS:  To be determined
 
PAY:  $14.00/hour
 
 
Security Specialist – FT and on call available
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for working with the Social Development team to provide students throughout the Center and in the dormitories with a safe, clean and structured living environment that fosters student retention, satisfaction, achievement and success. Oversees assigned areas and uses proper judgment and discretion to resolve student issues and concerns. Provides individualized support to maintain student enrollment and success in the program.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one-year Job Corps or related program experience required. A valid in-State Driver’s License preferred.
HOURS:  To be determined
 
PAY:  $14.00/hour
 
 
Clerk – Social Development
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Provides clerical support for department’s supervisor. This position is responsible, with minimum supervision, to perform a variety of clerical duties that are related to the work of the supervisor, requiring knowledge of office routine and procedures.
This individual will also interact with management on a day-to-day basis, handling confidential documents and materials. Will be required to take on special projects and provide technical support to other departments as needed.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School diploma or equivalent required with 1 to 3 years clerical experience. Degree or certification from an accredited or relevant certified training program. Advanced degrees preferred. Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Suite of applications is required.
 
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
 
PAY:  $14.00/hour
 
 
Academic Instructor – Math & TASC
 
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing instruction and training to students in the Career Education Center. Develops individual achievement plans and academic goals to ensure student academic achievement in the program. Works with the Career Technical Training (CTT) Instructors to infuse applied academics into CTT curricula to enhance student learning and success.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school required. Master’s degree preferred. A valid in-state teaching certificate or waiver required. Previous teaching or Job Corps experience preferred.
 
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
 
PAY:  $56,760 annually
 
 
Counselor Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for working with Residential team to provide students on respective dormitory with a safe, clean and structured living environment that fosters student retention, satisfaction, achievement and success. Oversee respective dorm area and uses proper judgment and discretion to resolve student and staff issues and concerns. Provides individualized case management to maintain student enrollment and success in the program. Works in partnership with Dorm Life, Recreation and Safety and Security staff to effectively supervise and manage the student population.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  Associates of Arts Degree (including 12 semester hours of social service-related instruction) required; advanced degree preferred; one-year experience in counseling or related field required. Job Corps experience preferred. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet company insurability requirements.
HOURS:  Tuesday – Saturday, 3 p.m. – 12 a.m. OR
               Thursday – Monday, 11:30 p.m. – 8:30 a.m.
 
PAY:  $38,000 annually
 


Security Guard
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for working with Social Development team to provide a safe and secure living and working environment for students and staff. Supervises security details, center operations and uses proper judgment and discretion to resolve student and staff issues and concerns. Conducts investigations of accidents and incidents with the goal of resolution and reduction of future occurrences. Manages the staff, students and Center operations when designated as the Center Duty Officer.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates of Arts degree from an accredited school preferred. A minimum of one-year experience in military, law enforcement, safety or security required. Must possess a valid Driver’s License, State Security License and must meet Company insurability requirements.
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
 
HOURS:  Saturday & Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Monday 3:00 p.m. – 12 a.m. and Tuesday & Wednesday 11:30 p.m. – 8:30 a.m.
 
PAY:  $50,424 annually
