Western Sullivan Public Library Announces
Family Programs in March
We have been having so much fun in our playgroup that we’re going to continue the new routine! Each week we’ll meet up with other families to help the littlest ones develop their social and motor skills. Adults can connect with other caregivers to share tips and ideas. Let’s Play! is a playgroup designed for the more active child - 3 and under. We've created a safe space for families to connect and children to interact with each other in open play. The loose structure will allow the group to fluidly spend time socializing as well as learning. We’ll meet on Wednesdays from 10:00 - 11:30 am…(3/8) at the Tusten-Cochecton Branch; on (3/22) at the Delaware Free Branch; AND on (3/29) at the Jeffersonville Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library. Come for any or all of the time that works for you!
Then for children ages 6-11 we’ve invited the Woodland Weavers & Spinners Guild back! We think it would be a lot of fun for all ages. Join us for live demonstrations and learn the ancient art of spinning yarn! The Guild will be set up with their spinning wheels, drop spindles, and all the roving one can dream of. Join us on Tuesday, March 14th to witness the ladies turn roving into yarn - and all the crafty things we can do from there! We’ll be at our Delaware Free Branch from 3:00 - 6:00 pm come for any or all of the time.
Another great opportunity for this age group is with our Family Garden class. Are you dreaming of planting a garden this year but don’t know where to start? Did you have a garden last year but want to get an early start on creating a plan this year? Then this Landscape Design Class is for you! Join us at 4:30pm on Monday, March 20th in our Tusten-Cochecton Branch for an interactive planning session. During our time together we’ll talk about design aesthetics, take a look at a planting schedule for this area and take time to decide what we want to plant this year and just where it should go! Beginners and more experienced junior gardeners are welcome. This class works as a stand alone, as well as for children interested in joining our Garden Club. Children 8+ please register at www.WSPLOnline.org.
