WALDEN, N.Y. - The law firm of Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP (J&G) is pleased to announce that Rebecca B. Mantello, Esq., a resident of Wallkill, was selected as a 2021 Orange County Rising Star by the Junior League of Orange County, NY, Inc. Rebecca is Senior Counsel with Jacobowitz and Gubits, concentrating in the area of civil and commercial litigation, personal injury, and appeals. She was presented with her award on September 30, 2021, at the Orange County Rising Stars event at The Barn at Villa Venezia in Middletown, New York. Orange County Rising Stars recognize men and women, between the ages of 21 and 41, who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills in their community, from the public, private, non-profit and or volunteer sectors. Their valuable contributions positively impact the county’s quality of life, as they build on the progress of others who have made Orange County an attractive region in the Hudson Valley for families and businesses. “On behalf of all of us at Jacobowitz and Gubits, we are proud of Rebecca for her accomplishments and her commitment to the firm, our clients, and the community” said Michele Babcock, Managing Partner.

Rebecca is an active member and former President of the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties, which awarded her the Outstanding New Lawyer Award in 2012. Rebecca joined the Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corp. (WVAC) in 2020 as a social member helping with fundraising and membership. She serves as the Recording Secretary for WVAC’s Board of Directors. She has been appointed as a member of the Police Reform Committee for the Town of Shawangunk earlier in 2021, formed to foster trust, fairness and legitimacy within the community and to address any racial bias and disproportionate policing of minorities.

Rebecca earned her Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School in 2007. She is admitted to practice law in the States of New York and Connecticut.
