Construction Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will carry out all work assigned for construction, renovation, and carpentry repair projects of Frost
Valley’s buildings and other program facilities. This position will utilize a team approach, working with the
Director of Property to meet facilities and resource management goals. Work will consistently be at a high
standard to meet the needs of our guests and the organization as a whole.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
? Attend to assigned tasks that may include carpentry, drywall, painting and finishing, roofing,
windows, doors, hardware installation, plumbing or electrical repairs.
? Assist as necessary with grounds care, including snow and ice removal and sanding.
? Note observations of needed maintenance and conditions that present safety concerns and bring
these to the attention of the supervisor.
? Develop and maintain a safe working environment and ensure safe work practices.
? Evaluate current work practices and develop creative, pro-active methods that enhance the services
provided.
? Provide an open forum of communication that encourages innovative thinking amongst the staff.
? Attend required staff meetings.
? Promote effective teamwork in a friendly and cooperative work environment.
? Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

? At least 21 years of age
? Experience in general maintenance, building and construction
? Able to understand construction plans and specifications
? General knowledge of plumbing and electrical
? Possess a valid US Driver’s License
? Be able to work well with a team of others.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

? The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

? Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to
adjust.
? Employee may be required to traverse on rough terrain.
? The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
