The Delaware Valley Job Corps Center is located in beautiful Callicoon, New York.  Our mission is to empower 16 to 24- year old’s through academics, vocational studies, and career skills with employability in mind.  Our Center offers residential living and recreation programing for our students.

Purchasing Agent
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for the purchasing function for all Center needs.  
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  Associate of Arts Degree from an accredited school required.   Three to five years of experience including oversight of contracts, sub contracts and experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations preferred.  Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft suite of applications is required.
 
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
 
PAY:  $38,000/annually
 
 
Career Transition Specialist – Yonkers, NY
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible to provide students with transitional support and placement services leading to full-time jobs, higher education or advanced training. Works cooperatively with Career Technical Training and Career Transition staff to provide students with comprehensive and individualized case management to identify and remediate students’ transitional barriers. Uses proper discretion and judgment to resolve issues and ensure student success after Job Corps. Conducts effective community job development activities with key business and community leaders.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field from an accredited school; or Associates degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field from an accredited school and two years’ related experience.  Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet the Company insurability requirements.
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
 
PAY:  $40,000/annually
 
 
Center Shift Supervisor
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible to provide students with a safe and structured living environment that fosters student retention, satisfaction, achievement and success. Oversees the daily management of social development programs and uses proper judgment and discretion to resolve student and staff issues and problems. Manages non-class hours residential living environment and ensures quality recreational and evening programming to enhance students independent living and employability skills. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate of Arts Degree from an accredited school or preferred. A minimum of one year experience in program management and direction with a substantial experience working with youth. Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet the Company insurability requirements
HOURS:  Saturday-Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Monday 3:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.; Tuesday-Wednesday 11:30 p.m. – 8:30 a.m.
 
PAY:  $47,300 annually
 
 
Work Based Learning Advisor (WBL)
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible to provide students with employability training leading to full-time jobs, higher education or advanced training. Coordinates and manages Work-Based Learning program ensuring students are actively participating in on- and off-Center on-the-job training assignments to improve employability skill-set.  Provides students with transportation services and participates in Career Transition Readiness/Grad-90 program.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer previous Job Corps or related program experience. Computer literacy and proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications required. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet the Company insurability requirements.
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
 
PAY:  $16.50/hour
 
Career Transition Readiness Coordinator
 
POSITION SUMMARY:   Identifies and develops Center-beneficial partnerships that lead to student benefit and success. Provides Career Transition classes and programming, transitional support and placement services leading to quality full-time jobs, higher education or advanced training. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  Associate’s degree from an accredited school required. A minimum of one year experience in program management and direction with a substantial experience working with youth. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet company insurability requirements.
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
 
PAY:  $39,160 annually
 
 
Career Preparation Period Advisor
 
POSITION SUMMARY:   Responsible to facilitate group discussions in diversity, employability, conflict resolution, job search, information technology, wellness, personal development, logistical support and independent living during the Introduction to Center Life program.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School diploma or equivalent required.  Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer Job Corps or related program experience.  Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet the Company insurability requirements.
 
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
 
PAY:  $16.50/hour
 
 
Academic Instructor
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for providing instruction and training to students in the Career Education Center.  Develops individual achievement plans and academic goals to ensure student academic achievement in the program.  Works with the CTT Instructors to infuse applied academics into CTT curricula to enhance student learning and success. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school required.  Master’s degree preferred.  A valid NYS teaching certificate or waiver required.  Previous teaching or Job Corps experience preferred.  
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
 
PAY:  $56,760 annually
 
 
Residential Advisor – Full-time, Part-time and On-call available
 
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for working with Residential team to provide students on respective dormitory with a safe, clean and structured living environment that fosters student retention, satisfaction, achievement and success. Provides individualized case management to maintain student enrollment and success in the program.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one year Job Corps or related program experience required. A valid in-State Driver’s License preferred.
 
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
 
HOURS:  Varied, includes nights and weekends.  Schedule includes 2 consecutive days off.
 
PAY:  $18.70/hour
 
Residential Coordinator
 
POSITION SUMMARY:   Responsible for working with Residential team to provide students on respective dormitory with a safe, clean and structured living environment that fosters student retention, satisfaction, achievement and success. Oversee respective dorm area and uses proper judgment and discretion to resolve student and staff issues and concerns. As a “Lead” Residential Advisor, provides mentoring, support and guidance to Residential Advisor staff. Provides individualized student case management to maintain student enrollment and success in the program.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one year Job Corps or related program experience required. A valid in-State Driver’s License preferred.

Recreation Specialist – Full-time, Part-time and On-call available
 
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for working with Recreation team to provide students with a comprehensive and diverse recreation program. Promotes health and wellness through overseeing the recreation activities as outlined on the approved recreation schedule.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates of Arts Degree or 1-year related experience working with youth. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. CDL preferred.
 
FT HOURS:  3 p.m. – 12 a.m., 2 consecutive days off.
 
PAY:  $17.60/hour
 
 
Driver – FT and On-call available
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Provides safe, efficient and effective transportation for students. Provide a safe and secure living and working environment for students and staff. Provides Center access control and visitor management. Assists in the investigation of accidents and incidents with the goal of resolution and reduction of future occurrences. Works in partnership with Dorm Life, Recreation and Safety and Security staff to effectively supervise and manage the student population. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer previous experience working with youth. Must possess and maintain a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement required.
 
HOURS:  Monday – Friday; 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (FT)
 
PAY:  $19.80/hour
 
 
Safety & Security Advisor
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Provide a safe and secure living and working environment for students and staff. Assists in the investigation of accidents and incidents with the goal of resolution and reduction of future occurrences.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer Job Corps or related program experience. Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. LPN
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible to provide preventative and emergency health services and wellness education to students under the direction of Health & Wellness Director - R.N.  Evaluates, determines and recommends appropriate medical, mental health and dental services for student population.  Ensures confidentiality of sensitive information and compliance with all HIPAA laws.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or equivalent required.  LPN certification from an accredited program and a valid NYS license to practice as a LPN.  A minimum of one year of health care experience preferred.  
 
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
 
PAY:  $21.00/hour
 
 
Mental Health Consultant
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  The general, the focus of the Center Mental Health Consultant is on the early identification and diagnosis of mental health problems; basic mental health care; and mental health promotion, prevention, and education designed to develop staff knowledge and help students overcome barriers to employability.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  Must be a Clinical/Counseling Psychologist or Clinical Social Worker with an active, unrestricted license to practice as an independent practitioner in New York State.  Two years of experience in diagnostic assessment and therapy services with youth and young adults preferred.
 
HOURS & PAY:  To be determined
 
 
Substitute Instructor 
 
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing instruction and training to students in the Career Education Center.
