The Delaware Valley Job Corps Center is located in beautiful Callicoon, New York.  Our mission is to empower 16 to 24- year old’s through academics, vocational studies, and career skills with employability in mind.  Our Center offers residential living and recreation programing for our students.

Center Standards and Incentive Coordinator
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for the management of the Center discipline, recognition and incentive program for students.  Analyzes Center’s student discipline and incentive program and uses proper judgment and discretion to resolve issues and problems.  Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School diploma or equivalent required.  Associate’s degree from an accredited school preferred.  A minimum of one year experience in Job Corps or related residential youth program required.  Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. 
HOURS:  Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
 
PAY:  $39,160 annually
 
 
 
 
 
Career Transition Readiness Coordinator
 
POSITION SUMMARY:   Identifies and develops Center-beneficial partnerships that lead to student benefit and success. Provides Career Transition classes and programming, transitional support and placement services leading to quality full-time jobs, higher education or advanced training. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  Associate’s degree from an accredited school required. A minimum of one year experience in program management and direction with a substantial experience working with youth. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet company insurability requirements.
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
 
PAY:  $39,000 annually
 
 
Career Preparation Period Advisor
 
POSITION SUMMARY:   Responsible to facilitate group discussions in diversity, employability, conflict resolution, job search, information technology, wellness, personal development, logistical support and independent living during the Introduction to Center Life program.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School diploma or equivalent required.  Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer Job Corps or related program experience.  Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet the Company insurability requirements.
 
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
 
PAY:  $15.40/hour
 
 
Food Services Assistant
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Ensures that food, supplies and equipment are available as needed and stored properly when not in use.   Responsible for assisting in the preparation of food for meals.  Provides kitchen clean-up to facilitate sanitizing of all food service areas.  
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Advanced degrees preferred. Experience in a food services operation desired.   Ability to obtain local Food Handling/Health Certification required.
 
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching.  Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
 
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
 
PAY:  $13.75/hour
 
 
 
Academic Instructor
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for providing instruction and training to students in the Career Education Center.  Develops individual achievement plans and academic goals to ensure student academic achievement in the program.  Works with the CTT Instructors to infuse applied academics into CTT curricula to enhance student learning and success. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school required.  Master’s degree preferred.  A valid NYS teaching certificate or waiver required.  Previous teaching or Job Corps experience preferred.  
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
 
PAY:  $56,760 annually
 
 
Senior Residential Counselor
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible to provide students on respective dormitory with a safe, clean and structured living environment that fosters student retention, satisfaction, achievement and success. Serve as the lead case manager for residential students and provides personal counseling to enhance student employability, ensure continued enrollment and qualified success in Job Corps. Supervise a dedicated Dorm Life team to provide services to assigned students. Train and assist students to become effective leaders who influence a positive Center culture. Ensure strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school (including at least 15 semester hours in Social Services-related instruction) required. A minimum of one year experience in counseling or related field working with youth and young adults. Prefer previous Job Corps or related program experience. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet company insurability requirements.
 
HOURS:  Sunday – Thursday, 3:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
 
PAY:  $58,762 annually
 
 
Mental Health Consultant
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  The general, the focus of the Center Mental Health Consultant is on the early identification and diagnosis of mental health problems; basic mental health care; and mental health promotion, prevention, and education designed to develop staff knowledge and help students overcome barriers to employability.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  Must be a Clinical/Counseling Psychologist or Clinical Social Worker with an active, unrestricted license to practice as an independent practitioner in New York State.  Two years of experience in diagnostic assessment and therapy services with youth and young adults preferred.

Dorm Support Specialist – Full-time, Part-time and On-call available
 
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for working with Dorm Life team to provide students on respective dormitory with a safe, clean and structured living environment that fosters student retention, satisfaction, achievement and success. Provides individualized case management to maintain student enrollment and success in the program.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one-year Job Corps or related program experience required. A valid Driver’s License required.
 
HOURS:  Varied, includes nights and weekends.  Schedule includes 2 consecutive days off.
 
PAY:  $16.50/hour
 
 
Recreation Specialist – Full-time, Part-time and On-call available
 
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for working with Recreation team to provide students with a comprehensive and diverse recreation program. Promotes health and wellness through overseeing the recreation activities as outlined on the approved recreation schedule.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates of Arts Degree or 1-year related experience working with youth. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. CDL preferred.
 
FT HOURS:  3 p.m. – 12 a.m., 2 consecutive days off.
 
PAY:  $16.50/hour
 
 
Safety & Security Driver – FT and On-call available
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Provides safe, efficient and effective transportation for students. Provide a safe and secure living and working environment for students and staff. Provides Center access control and visitor management. Assists in the investigation of accidents and incidents with the goal of resolution and reduction of future occurrences. Works in partnership with Dorm Life, Recreation and Safety and Security staff to effectively supervise and manage the student population. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer previous experience working with youth. Must possess and maintain a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement required.
 
HOURS:  Monday – Friday; 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (FT)
 
PAY:  $17.60/hour
 
 
Counselor Specialist
 
POSITION SUMMARY:   Responsible for working with Residential team to provide students on respective dormitory with a safe, clean and structured living environment that fosters student retention, satisfaction, achievement and success. Oversee respective dorm area and uses proper judgment and discretion to resolve student and staff issues and concerns. Provides individualized case management to maintain student enrollment and success in the program. Works in partnership with Dorm Life, Recreation and Safety and Security staff to effectively supervise and manage the student population.  Supervises Dorm Support Specialists as directed; may assume additional responsibilities or serve as the Acting Residential Counselor or Acting Senior Residential Counselor in their absence.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  Associates of Arts Degree (including 12 semester hours of social service-related instruction) required; advanced degree preferred; one year experience in counseling or related field required. Job Corps experience preferred. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet company insurability requirements.

Clerical Support
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Provides clerical support for Social Development Manager.  This position is responsible, with minimum supervision, to perform a variety of clerical duties that are related to the work of the manager, requiring knowledge of office routine and procedures.  
This individual will also interact with management on a day-to-day basis, handling confidential documents and materials.   Will be required to take on special projects and provide technical support to other departments as needed. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School diploma or equivalent required with 1 to 3 years clerical experience.  Degree or certification from an accredited or relevant certified training program.  Advanced degrees preferred. Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Suite of applications is required.
 
HOURS:  Monday & Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday-Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
 
PAY:  $15.40/hour
 
 
Security Support Specialist
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for working with the Social Development team to provide students throughout the Center and in the dormitories with a safe, clean and structured living environment that fosters student retention, satisfaction, achievement and success. Oversees assigned areas and uses proper judgment and discretion to resolve student issues and concerns. Provides individualized support to maintain student enrollment and
success in the program.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one year Job Corps or related program experience required. A valid in-State Driver’s License preferred.  Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. HOURS:  as-needed-basis
 
PAY:  $65 half day/$130 full day
