This event is open to the public to cheer on their fellow community members as they are recognized for their dedication and hard work on this year’s projects. Winners in the Community Beautification competition will receive additional grants between $1000 and $12,000. The Golden Feather Grant of $100,000 will go to one of five Municipal Partnership projects. Judges will also award separate grants for “Showing of Flowers” including awards to communities that received maintenance support. Community Mitzvah Awards of $10,000, $5000 and $3000 will go to the winning seasonal communities. Young people will be acknowledged for participating in the Sullivan Renaissance Internship Program, and scholarships will be announced by SUNY Sullivan Foundation and the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan Counties. Members of the Sullivan Renaissance Volunteers Corps and the Bilingual Advisory Committee will be recognized as well. The facility is ADA compliant and simultaneous translation into Spanish will be available.
