Whether you are maintaining your garden, your backyard, a section along a picket fence or a streambank, you have the opportunity to foster natural beauty and improve ecological balance through planting choices. This will have an impact on your community, ecology and a rippling effect on the surrounding habitat. The Rondout Neversink Stream Program’s philosophy is to create streamside plantings that showcase the beauty of Catskill native flora, help against erosion, improve water quality, and provide shelter and sustenance for pollinators, small mammals, songbirds, and fish. Learn how to go beyond a basic beautification project to design plantings that offer ecological benefits, natural beauty, and resiliency against flooding damage.
