Prohibition Distllery
10 Union Street
Roscoe, NY
Prohibition Distillery, the NY craft distiller responsible for producing the award winning Bootlegger 21 vodka, is pleased to announce their arrival in Roscoe.
Please join brand founders Brian Facquet and John FK Walsh, along with Sullivan County Assemblywoman Hon. Aileen Gunther, Allan Scott of Sullivan County Partnership for Economic Development, Terri Ward & Cathy Paty of the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce, Elaine Fettig of Roscoe-Rockland Chamber of Commerce and Sean Eldridge and Michael Oates of Hudson River Ventures for the official ribbon cutting and tour of the region's newest distillery.
Sean Eldridge, President of Hudson River Ventures, a small business investment fund focused on the Hudson Valley, notes, "This project is a great example of a public private partnership. They could have built anywhere. We are excited they made Sullivan County their home and that Hudson River Ventures will enable them to grow their business right here."
Facquet and Walsh couldn't imagine opening their doors anywhere else in the state. Facquet explains their commitment to the town and the region and why building their business in Roscoe reflects the essence of their entrepreneurial spirit, "We fell in love with the town, the people and its identity as a quintessential American town. It means the world to us to be part of the Roscoe and Sullivan County community. Our goal is to provide a long term impact to the area through agribusiness and tourism."
That impact will be felt bottle by bottle as more and more people learn of the distillery's existence in the town's old firehouse and come through for a distillery tour and tasting, or purchase a bottle at their favorite liquor store and enjoy Bootlegger cocktails at fine restaurants around the country. Eldridge remarks, "Prohibition Distillery is a great product that is getting noticed in New York and across the country. They are doing a great job growing the brand and creating a product people love."
Facquet and Walsh love the fact that Roscoe opened its doors to them, making it possible to base their craft spirits business in a region that celebrates locally sourced and produced products. Prohibition Distillery's founders recognized Roscoe, and Sullivan County, as a town and region that reflects their unwavering belief that with hard work, ingenuity, tireless effort and personal integrity they can achieve anything. Facquet remarks, "It has been our goal to produce beautiful spirits that represent ourselves and our region."
Prohibition Distillery currently produces their award winning Bootlegger 21 Vodka, which is distilled from 100% Corn, then slow filtered to produce a smooth, sipping vodka. The craft distillery will continue their focus on producing spirits made from corn and other local grain by releasing Gin and Moonshine this summer and Bourbon in the fall.

About Prohibition Distillery: Founded by Brian Facquet and John Walsh in 2009, with a dream of making locally crafted spirits that respects a sense of tenacity found in the American entrepreneur. Prohibition Distillery was relocated to Roscoe, NY in 2013. Our first product, Bootlegger 21 New York Vodka, is made from 100% corn (Gluten Free), then slow filtered through charcoal to produce remarkably smooth, sipping Vodka. Gin and Whiskey are slated for a September 2013 targeted release. Our Distillery has had a unique genesis, Just as the Bootleggers shrugged off the 18th Amendment that made the transport and sale of liquor illegal in the U.S., we said, “to heck with the financial woes”, and quit our jobs to follow our dream. It has taken us several years, but we are proud to call Roscoe, New York our home.
