Learn about healing herbs that can be grown in your own backyard! Karen and Cortney Whitmore (mother and daughter) will lead a workshop detailing the medicinal plants and herbs that they have been cultivating in a home garden for many years. Participants will gather at the Farm Arts Collective greenhouse for registration and then go up the hill to the Whitmore’s homestead. The tour will be highlighted by a special reading of Gerrard’s Herbal (circa 1636) accompanied by the gentle and lilting musical delights of the Farm Arts Collective Madrigal Choir. Farm Days are monthly workshops that focus on farming, food, and ecology. Led by professionals and self-taught experts in their field, Farm Day workshops are open to all community members and typically take place at the Farm Arts Collective greenhouse, at Willow Wisp Organic Farm.
