Business Recovery from the Shutdown - a Financial Perspective (1.5h)
Many run a business without much in-depth knowledge of their numbers. It works, for a while, until it doesn't anymore. These are extreme times during which having a handle on your numbers is vital. You most likely didn't have much (if any) income in the last two months, and it's catastrophic. Moving forward, it's important to understand how you will get out of this hole for the survival of your business.
This presentation will explore how to address the minutiae of your financial operations while keeping in mind the end goal. Do you know your breakeven point? Can you create cash flow projections? These two tools help you be in control of your short- and long-term business strategy, and marketing decisions. During this presentation, you will learn how to turn your numbers into friends so you can make knowledge-based day-to-day business decisions and increase your bottom line.
Presenter: Myriam Bouchard, MBA, is a Certified Business Advisor at the Mid-Hudson Small Business Development Center. Throughout her career, she has helped hundreds of organizations in various business stages. A dedicated strategist, she brings methodology and forward-thinking, addressing the minutiae of day-to-day operations while keeping in mind the end goal. She uses a lifetime of experience in her advising work, whether it is reviewing a profit and loss statement to help with cash flow issues or discussing marketing and pricing strategies to increase revenues. Her core strength is doing feasibility analyses, often leading to successful endeavors and at other times, the numbers exposing the hurdles of starting or expanding a business.
